It's been all quiet on the travelling front recently. We saw a couple of chartered speedboats pass by yesterday but those aren't comissioned to pick up travellers from the port, so there hasn't been any movement in the queue since. Some of us cried false hope, but the rest of us knew better.
With that in mind, let us now proceed with today's character profile, Kyouko ...

Stop press! Stop press! Some incredible scoop coming in from Mii Homes just within the hour! Good news, bad news, we've got it all! Yuzu, just drop whatever you're doing and get this report on, now! I'm counting on you, kouhai!
She sure can run, dashing off before even hearing my reply. Bad news first, then. It helps temper excessive exuberance over what small grains of hope still remain in our lives. Ahem ...
Hmm, I'm actually a little dismayed, for once. Ahem. Huge upheaval in relations between Utsuho Reiuji and Kyouko Kasodani! They must have had a very ill-spirited danmaku battle, for they are now no longer Best Friends! Not only that, their relations with their respective husbands have been severely damaged as well! What the heck could have possibly happened? It's like someone set off a nuclear warhead of hate in the lot between the first and second houses at Mii Homes!
Did someone say "Nuclear"???
Oh, that's terrible. Yesterday's report, claiming Okuu and Kyouko have been best of friends since this island's birth, as well as the assertion that relations between Okuu and Kourin have always been good, is now officially obsolete. That's what you get for tempting fate, isn't it, Gensokyo Island's owner? Why can't you learn to always be pessimistic about things? It helps keep expectations low. But I doubt you'd ever garner the common sense to think that way.
Now, for the good news. Well, good news for some people, that is. Apparently, two travellers today returned by express speedboat to visit their parents on Gensokyo Island!
Vytautas and Hachiko, respectively the third and fourth travellers from Gensokyo Island to return ... alive.
Vytautas, only son of Shinmyoumaru Sukuna and Overlord Laharl, as well as Hachiko, third daughter (and third child) of Kyouko Kasodani and Wriggle Nightbug, returned today to visit their homes.
Gensokyo Island has had returnees before, among them Sora, son and third child of Utsuho Reiuji and Rinnosuke Morichika, as well as Juan, son and first child of Recette Lemongrass and Armin Arlert. However, this event is particularly remarkable as two children returned on the same day, which must have given the entire island and not only the happy parents a pleasant surprise. Even Okuu's Look-alike, dictator for life of the island, received a little treat from the travellers.
"Exotic Cuisine"? What the heck is that?
Ugh, I have no idea what that is, but people around here seem to think that's delicious. Anyway, the returning travellers were invited to not only share a (potentially) last supper with their old folks, but also to take a nap in their parents' marital bed. Is that symbolic of anything, or am I thinking too much? Considering that Hachiko's parents were ranting and raving at each other to the point of near divorce this morning, perhaps she should be lucky that she has a house to return to at all. Me? I've already given up thinking of home.
Do parents ever feel bad for kicking their kids out of their house? Not when there's an evil brutal dictator breathing down their neck, they don't.
So there we have it. Two happy little travellers, rested, replenished, and emotionally rejuvenated after seeing their parents once again, off to face this big brutal world we travellers call daily life. Y'know, except those of us stuck at a port with nowhere to go and nothing to eat except what little we can earn scraping by on menial jobs such as ... sorry, I won't go off the script again.
Anyway, there you go. That's the good life of a traveller who's survived the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune for yet another day. This was Yuzu, with today's top news story.
And really, the script sucks. Think about it for a moment.
I'd have a huge smile on my face just to be alive, too, if I had a reason to fear I may not survive tomorrow.
